Classes
offered at Footlights
Tap
- This class also follows a syllabus set by the ISTD to work towards
examinations in the same way as modern. The exercises in this syllabus break
down different movements and teach techniques needed when tackling more
challenging steps and combinations of rhythm.
Jazz
Dance
- This class encourages a much more free form of dance adapting to the children
within the class rather than the children learning set pieces, allowing the use
of more familiar moves and music and the class can have much more input as to
what is done each week including their own choreography.
Musical Theatre - This class covers a combination of drama, singing and movement. Learning songs developing them adding movement to set the scence. We also study drama and improvisation covering a wide range of subjects and linking our songs together.
Singing
- As well as the group singing we are offering individual singing practice as a
free class to students already attending classes at the school. This is operated
on a voluntary basis where students put their name down each week if they wish
to attend a slot. This can be for students who attend singing lessons and would
like extra song practice or students who like to have a taste of singing with
out signing up to full lessons with a singing teacher.
Each slot is 10/15 minutes long in the format of simple warm up exercises and
then song practice. The classes will take place every other week (on the drama
week of Musical Theatre) at
Ballet - Ballet classes are available please contact Emma to register interest and we hope to resume classes asap.
